Questions advisors ask.

Everything about the Guide, the template, and how the playbook works with AI.

Getting started

  • Yes, but the free plan is all you need. Notion is free to sign up at notion.so and the free tier has no time limit. Once you have an account, you click the template link in your delivery email and duplicate it directly into your workspace. It takes about two minutes to get set up.

  • No to both. The Guide includes a full orientation to Notion and a step-by-step walkthrough for setting up Claude as your design partner. If you can use a word processor, you can use Notion. If you can have a conversation, you can use Claude. The template eliminates the blank-page problem entirely.

  • Your first four chapters can be populated in 20 to 30 hours spread over a few weeks. The AI prompt accelerates the writing significantly. Most advisors start seeing value within the first week.

  • Yes, and solo advisors often see the fastest value, because everything currently lives in one head, which is the highest-risk version of the problem. Documenting your practice protects you if you get sick, take a holiday, or hire your first team member. It also makes AI far more useful, since it can answer from your documented process instead of guessing. The framework scales down to one person and up to a full team.

  • That is a good starting point and you do not have to throw it away. The Guide includes a migration chapter and an AI prompt that takes an existing document and restructures it into a playbook chapter. Most practices find their existing documentation is scattered, out of date, and rarely opened. Moving it into one living, searchable system is what gets the team to actually use it.

  • The structure works for any financial planning practice. The compliance chapters reflect your specific regulatory environment, and the Claude prompt adapts to whatever jurisdiction you operate in.

  • It was built inside a financial advisory practice, but the core framework applies to any founder-led professional services firm. The Claude prompt adapts to whatever practice type you describe. Not in financial services? Reach out at hello@insightplaybook.com and we will let you know if it is a fit.

What you get

  • A practice playbook is a single, searchable place where every policy, procedure, and standard in your practice is written down. Right now that knowledge is spread across people’s heads: the founder’s, the assistant’s, the associate’s, each holding a different piece. A playbook puts it in one system the whole team can use. It covers client onboarding, meetings, compliance, technology, and everything else your practice does repeatedly. The standard to aim for is simple: a new team member should be able to follow any process without asking anyone.

  • You receive an email within a few minutes. It contains your Guide as a PDF, personalized to your license. If you purchased the Guide and Template, the email also includes a link to duplicate the Notion template directly into your workspace. If you purchased the Full Package, it includes a booking link for your Playbook Strategy Session. Everything is delivered digitally, so there is nothing to ship and nothing to wait for. Keep the delivery email, since it holds your access to the files.

  • There are three options. The Guide is $197 USD. The Guide and Notion template together are $497 USD. The Full Package, which adds a 90-minute Playbook Strategy Session with Shea Sanche and Ryan Butler, is $2,500 USD. All are one-time purchases, not subscriptions.

  • Neither. It is a framework for building the operating system your practice needs. Notion is the platform. The Guide is the process. The template gives you a head start. The Playbook Strategy Session makes it specific to your practice.

  • Those tools capture individual steps. They record what you click and turn it into a how-to, and they work well alongside a playbook. The difference is what happens next. A recording sits there as a video or a screenshot guide that a person has to watch. A playbook becomes a second brain your AI can read: it knows how your practice operates, what your standards are, how each person writes, and what your brand guidelines are. That means you can ask a question and get your answer, or ask for a draft and get it in your voice and on brand. Capture tools document steps. The playbook makes your practice usable by your team and your AI at the same time.

  • A 90-minute recorded session with Shea Sanche, CFP (practice design) and Ryan (technical implementation). They review your practice, architect your playbook structure, design your databases, and walk your team through the build process. You receive a full executive summary and implementation notes within 72 hours. Limited to one session per week.

Using AI

  • A Voice Profile is a short, reusable description of how one person on your team writes: their tone, their greetings and sign-offs, the phrases they reach for, and the habits they avoid. Each person builds one once, in about ten minutes, by having AI study a handful of their real sent emails. From then on, any draft comes back sounding like that person instead of like generic AI. It is the difference between a message your client recognizes as yours and one that reads like it came from a machine. The template includes a ready-made Voice Profile builder and a page for each person.

  • Yes, and it is one of the biggest day-to-day payoffs. Your playbook holds your brand guide: your colors, fonts, logos, messaging standards, and firm voice. Once your AI can read that, you can ask it to draft a client letter, a one-page summary, a proposal, or a social post, and it comes back already on brand and in the right voice. You are no longer starting from a blank page or rewriting generic output to sound like you. The brand work you do once becomes something every person on your team uses every day.

  • Yes, because your client data never enters the playbook. The playbook documents how your practice operates: your processes, standards, and templates. Client names, account details, and personal information stay in your CRM and your regulated systems, where they belong. When you use AI to build or use your playbook, it is working on your documented process, not on your client information. That separation is deliberate, and it is what keeps the compliance question simple.

  • The playbook does not connect to your CRM directly, and it does not need to. It documents how your practice runs, including the procedures your team follows inside whatever CRM you use. That documentation is what makes your processes consistent, and it is also what makes AI genuinely useful, because a well-documented process is something an AI can work from. If your CRM has its own AI features, your playbook gives it the clear procedures it needs.

  • The Guide is written around Claude, because that is what the practice it came from uses, and the design-partner prompt is tuned for it. The framework itself is not locked to one tool, and the prompts work in other assistants with minor adjustments. The setup steps and screenshots in the Guide follow Claude.

Licensing and privacy

  • Yes, within your practice. Your license covers one practice, and you are encouraged to share the playbook you build with everyone on your team. That is the entire point of building it. What the license does not permit is sharing the Guide or the template itself outside your practice, or using the materials to create a competing product. Each copy of the Guide carries a footer identifying the license holder.

  • Only you and your team. Your playbook lives in your own Notion workspace, under your account. The Insight Playbook does not host, access, or store the content you create inside it. You own it and you control it completely.

  • No. This is a digital product delivered immediately, and once the Guide and template are in your hands they cannot be returned. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. That is why we make the details clear before you buy: the pricing page shows exactly what is included at each level, and these questions cover the rest. If you are unsure whether it fits your practice, email hello@insightplaybook.com before purchasing and we will give you a straight answer.
